Heard a rumor that Carini's (Italian restaurant) at Cary Park (Green Level Church and Carpenter Fire Station) had been closed by the sheriff. We drove by and sure enough, sign posted on the door and dark inside. Anyone know the details?

Usually the Sheriff's office is called in for when the rent has not been paid and the owber has exhausted all other means of collection. (I am not a sheriff, but I do have experience in commercial real estate.)

Wow, that bites. I have reviewed the place in this forum and we liked it more and more each time we went. That's too bad.

Carinis is indeed closed. We tried to go there on Monday and looked like the place was empty.

yes it is very sad when people work hard and invest time and money on a restaurant venture as it this economy the chances of success are very slim unless backed by one of the big national chains with deep pockets. It will interesting if it remains locked up for a long period or if someone comes along and thinks they can do better than Carini did.

I did see that Planet Beach is re-opening on October 11th after previously being shut for 3 or 4 months over the summer and that work is progressing on the two shop units that Rex are fitting out as a local medical clinic.

Restaurants are one of the worst businesses to try and open...you need so much capital and high volume to make up for the small profit margin...it's a lot harder than it looks on food network/travel channel.....much respect 2 those that do it 4 a living...
