I find that most of the areas that I go to (malls, restaurants, movies theaters, Memorial Autotorium, RBC Center) are either smoke free or provide a separate area for smokers.
Now here I am...in Myrtle Beach, SC...and I was SHOCKED to see someone in the condo lobby smoking! There are ashtrays beside the elevators! There was smoking all over the little grill we ate at last night. YUCK! I feel like I've gone back in time!!!
^ Kinda off topic but sounds like the small NC town I grew up in! I remember going to Hardees (years ago) and having folks smoke in line. Is it still legal to smoke in line in NC? I am hoping not. Here in VA they definitely don't and it's something I appreciate. Matter of fact even the mop and pop stores are clear of smoky air.
I was always surprised when I would visit the VA hospital in durham how many people would sit and smoke just outside the entrance..............they finally moved the smoking zone away from the entrance, but you had to go through a huge plume of smoke to enter the place!
annoying to say the least.
then I would always see patients outside with their iv poles smoking!
