There are a lot. The Oxford is a gastropub. Sono has sushi. Isaac Hunters Oak City Tavern is a bar. The Mint is an eclectic Souther Restaurant. The Big Easy is Cajun. Chickfila is fast food. Spize Cafe is a lunch type cafe. Posta Tuscan Grille is Italian. The have a Kabob Hut, a Jimmy John's Sandwich hut, and a Krispy Creme Hut right by your hotel. La Volta is Italian too

All of those restaurants above are on Fayetteville Street no more than a Miles walk from there.

On Wilmington St (a parallel street one block over) there are a few other restaurants. Sitti is a Lebanese place, and Buku has global street foods. Dos Taquitos has Mexican. Busy Bee is a fun bar. The Brass Grill has lunchtime fare. The Morning Times is a bfast/coffee place at a crossstreet (Hargett) between Fayetteville St and Wilmington Street.

Lots of other places. As far as New Years the "First Night Raleigh" Festivities should be going on right outside your hotel. You should just hang out there unless you're looking to beat the cool weather and celebrate at a bar.

Within walking distance, my favorites include (and a few were listed above):
- The Raleigh Times - a very solid bar, terrific beer selection, great pub grub
- Spize Cafe - Asian influenced, inexpensive, outstanding "pork baguette," a variation on a Vietnamese banh mi sandwich, lunch only
- Sitti - Lebanese, great for small plates and snacks too
- Duck and Dumpling - Pan-asian, good dumplings, small plate options and entrees
- Poole's Tavern - It's small and will probably be packed, the chef is earning a national reputation, casual hipster vibe, probably best enjoyed on an off night
- The Foundation - a subterranian bar that focuses on making good cocktails. It's also small, so New Years will be tough
- Coopers - Dive BBQ, dirt cheap
