Can anyone tell me about Youngsville/ Franklinton area? we were planning on moving to Wake Forest and already explored the area. However we want a little more space. We found a place on the line of the two (Youngsville/ Franklinton) but were not sure? what about the schools? can you choose your children's school or must you go to the nearest?
i live in youngsville, near where it seems like you are considering moving to.
youngsville is great... franklinton... well.... not so much. i know those who love it, but i am not one of them.
if you are in youngsville near the line, your kids will go to franklinton elementary. i was not impressed with them for my daughter (who attended YES until the school districts were redone) and when my son starts school, will take him to youngsville.
because FE school rating is so low, you can (i believe) request to go to one of the other elementary schools, but you have to provide transportation.
the area where you are looking has many nice homes and neighborhoods. the middle school is ok. a new high school is being built on cedar creek rd and should be open in 2 years? i think. i believe the existing franklinton HS will become a middle school, not sure though.
I live in Franklinton and love it. It's quaint, quiet and has small-town charm. Neighbors aren't all up on top of you. It's a quick trip to Louisburg to the new Super Walmart, to Youngsville for shopping and dining, and to Wake Forest, Triangle Town Center, etc.
I commute to Cary every day and don't mind a bit.
I love that you can get so much more for your money out here, too, with regard to land/house.
