Back to researching areas.... Now trying to find out about Youngsville. Commute to RTP is tolerable (I think), it looks like 35 min or so???
How rural of an area is this/ we want small town but with opportunities for community/neighborhood involvement. Saw a realtor.com house in Arrowhead Farms that looked promising...
Any advice on the area in general or specifically would be so helpful!!

I get such great info on these boards...

I also was wondering about you all think about growth potential in the area/ Good investment or look elsewhere?

What part of RTP and what time of day? I doubt very much that you could get from Youngsville to the Morrisville side of RTP during rush hour in 35 minutes.

its going to take about an hour in rush hour traffic from youngsville out to morrisville. now, if you work odd hours it wont take as long.

great town though. i like living here. only reason were planning on moving is because we want to be closer to the beach.

Investment is a relative term. Are you thinking buying--staying 10 or more years--selling?
Are you looking for property that you could sell in a year or two for profit? :-)

Youngsville is almost a "suburb" of Wake Forest. Not as pricey as WF, but it does have its charms and seems to be growing.

Hopefully staying for a while but you never know. I think I'm trying to reconcile myself with having a long commute... if I'm going to drive that far anyway, what about Bynum/ pittsboro or even garner/ willow springs areas?

We live on the Wake Forest/Youngsville border, and I work in RTP, just into Durham. My commute is 35-40 mins on 98, and I leave early enough where it's an easy commute. 98 can get very crowded after 7am.

On the area, we love the rural feel, less congested compared to Capitol Blvd just a few miles south, but we still have all we need right where we are.

My sister lived in Youngsville for a few years - nice country. I would make that commute before committing to it long term. Wake Forest will be your closest shopping, etc.

Give up on NW Raleigh?

I'd have to agree with this..it took us almost 40 minutes to get from Morrisville to Youngsville on a Saturday afternoon at 1:00 when we were down a couple of weekends ago. So, I'd find it hard to believe you could do it in 35 minutes during rush hour!

It might just depend where in Youngsville. You could be way out or you could be close to Capitol Blvd which would get you there quicker. I live in the downtown of Wake Forest which I love, and am 4 miles from my boyfriend in Youngsville, back road. So 5 minutes to his house. Sometimes all depends on how you hit those lights and the shortcuts you may take.
