Why don't you go between Raleigh and FV, literally? Why do you need to choose between those 2 cities? There is lots of space in between the two that is unincorporated and belongs to Wake county only.

Cool. But this is organized by zip codes, and everyone on this forum always says "Don't pay any attention to zip codes!"

I know Raleigh has a bunch of zips but I think (not 100%) that FV only has one - 27526. Even the unincorporated parts of FV are 27526.

Raleigh is so big, I'd think you'd have to compare FV to an area of Raleigh, not the whole massive area...

I would agree that zip codes don't tell the ENTIRE STORY but they are another way of doing your research.

Using the zip code in North Raleigh of 27615 and COMPARING it to another zip code, you'll get an idea of what is going on in that area.

Durham is harder to gather much information by zip code as each neighborhood is an "island onto itself".

So, while I agree that you can't tell the whole story by zip code, it gives you some of the information.

Vicki

I agree with the above poster - you can't compare small Fuquay with ALL of Raleigh. In general, if you're looking similar houses/lot sizes with similar prices, I'd choose (and did) Fuquay over the parts of Raleigh that have similarly sized/priced homes.

However, if you're willing to look at smaller or older or more expensive homes, there are definitely parts of Raleigh that I'd choose over Fuquay (while I'm happy where I am, I sometimes wish I'd been willing to consider a wider variety of homes when we moved here several years ago).

Have you visited? Just driving through the areas you're considering should tell you which you'd prefer, I'd think.
