467 square yards of Empire Zoysia sod @ $8.67/yard from Green Level Landscapes, 919.303.7295:
"The pricing shown is the price for the sod installation. The following is included in pricing above: Eradicating the existing lawn, performing a soils analysis, adding any necessary soil amendments, roto-tilling of the soils, and any fine grading prior to the sod placement, cutting, alignment and shaping of the sod."
zoysia typically goes for 7.50- 9.00 per yard depending on quantity and prep. Also location comes into play. Is area flat and easy to get too or is it on the side of Mt. Everest and all hand work. I like installing Empire.

Most warm season grasses once established us less water than tall fescue. They like the heat. Fertilize during the summer around every six weeks. Make sure that your yard does have sun. Zoysia can handle shade better than other warm season grasses but it will thin out if to shady. Zoysia is a great choice and feels nice to bare feet.
We are thinking of converting our Fescue to Zoysa. I was wondering how much care does it take i.e., water, fertilizing, etc.
Zoysia has low fertilization requirements - one of the reasons it out competes the weeds/other grasses. Generally the only time zoysia has weeds is shortly after establishment, or if it has been over fertilized. Think it was ....1/2 pound nitrogen per 1000 sq. Feet 3 times during growing season. Went by Home Depot in Wake Forest last week and darned if they didn't have big squares of Zoysia for two bucks each. I'd been planning to go to SuperSod, but this was easier. Trouble is, I deliberated too long and they sold out. Yesterday I drove by and they had re-stocked, so I bought ten pieces and plugged the entire front yard with them today. My neighbor did the same about three years ago and his yard is a gorgeous unbroken expanse now. Just FYI.
