Does anyone know of a boat rental at Jordan Lake that allows pets? I'm looking for a pontoon boat that would allow us to bring our dog with us. I found Crosswinds Marina but they don't seem to allow pets.
Thanks in advance!

Crosswinds Marina is the only marina (and business for that matter) on Jordan Lake, and their online rental policy does seem to disallow pets:

Boat Rental Policy - Crosswinds Marina, Inc.& Jordan Lake Boat Rentals on B. Everett Jordan Lake (http://crosswindsmarina.webs.com/boatrentalpolicy.htm - broken link)

No Pets or Grills are allowed on rental boats, and No Tubing, Skiing, or Towing of any kind (including other vessels) is permitted.

I quess a private party rental is your only "legal" bet.

Did you ever get a response to this? I'm in Cary and interested in doing the same. I have three well behaved labs and want to take my dogs and my family out on the lake for a day.

Rick

Same policy as before. No dogs. No grills. No towing.

Here's the fixed link: Pontoon Boat Rentals on Jordan Lake - WELCOME

Another resource for rentals is Jordan Lake Water Sports. They do not allow children under 30 pounds or dogs of any kind.

I never did find a solution as the other posters commented.

My lab is missing out too

Did anyone ever find a pet-friendly option? Heading out this weekend and will use our canoes/kayaks which the dog loves but would love to rent a pontoon.

Since Crosswinds Marina is the only marina on the lake, renting from a private individual may be the only alternative - one willing to rent you their boat, and haul it out to the lake if you're not equipped to do that.

I've seen ads from time to time in Craigslist: Joanie's Speed Boat Rental

Disclaimer: I've not used any of these services, YMMV, etc.

I'm wondering if another marina will open somewhere off the Haw river, related to Chatham Park.

Dogs on boats, especially large breeds, can be really tough on vinyl seat cushions. The dog's temperament nor training can stop a toe nail from piercing, tearing or scratching seats. Cost me $450 last year when a friend's dog ripped one of my bolsters.

I understand the no dogs part about the rentals but why no water sports??
