There is a good chance that both my wife and I (no children) will be moving down without employment initially. We plan to sell our small home here in Long Island NY and hopefully use the proceeds to purchase a Townhome with either all cash or at least 90% cash with a very small mortgage.
Some questions to anybody that can answer:
1. My wife and I are both in accounts payable and finance. I have also worked for defense companies here on LI and I am currently a pricing analyst. Does anybody know if the job prospects are decent down there where we could find decent paying jobs (i.e $30k - $40k) per year with benefits ?
2. Can someone recommend one of the areas over the other that we are looking to buy a townhome in ? We are looing in the $140k - $175k price range.
3. How is the overall "quality of life" down there ?
I plan on visiting the area at the end of September 2007 to look for real estate and meet with a couple of employment agencies.
Any comments back would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Kevin

Good AP people are definitely needed.
My wife is an accountant and sees that need.
Quality nof life is very good, IMO.
I'm here 10 years from PA, and consider Wake County "Home."
You have so many townhome opportunities in the $140,000-$175,000 range it is hard to list them all.
