Hypothetically speaking, if someone had a home on the market right now, where would the Realtor's out there recommend that we post? Obviously have it on MLS, which gets pulled for many other sites is a must, but are there any super secret locations that we should be aware of?

Depending on the type of home, I have friends that have had great success advertising in the Independent Weekly. But keep in mind the clientele that regularly read that paper before deciding to advertise in there.

I've been lucky so far with CL and haven't received spam from a listing. But I'm also selling stuff like used gardening tools on there so I doubt the spammers think I'm worth spamming lol.

We advertise a vacation rental and they will often write a paragraph or two and say they will very interested but they never follow up or ask for any personal information from me. Are they just after an email address? If so, it seems like a hard way to do it? Any spammers want to share their secrets?

Identity theft and general nuisance.
Bots are pretty good at harvesting email addresses, so it is pretty effortless.
