Static is a fact of life for AM.
Good thing about AM radio is you can tell when a storm is coming long before you even hear thunder. You can hear the lightening through the speakers.

I think 680 redirects its signal at night, Tom Kearney used to talk about that. 680 is sometimes hard to tune in at home. I can usually get it well in the truck. 850 is sometimes hard in the truck, and always hard at home, especially at night. Car radios often get better reception for some reason.

I am glad they kept Sunday Night Classics with Don Curtis, the owner. But I fear Don will lose overall, as he has shaken up the programming so much. I tune in much less now, as I can barely get Mark Levin and can't get Michael Savage at all. If I find them on other stations, 680 will become a minor station for me. It used to be my main station much of the day and night.

As long as i have lived in the Triangle, WPTF has been a major player in the market, and has been a stable force. Time will tell if any of this works out.
