You can try the BoneFish Grill in Cary. They are at the corner of Cary Pkwy and Weston Pkwy. It usually gets very crowded on the weekends. Everytime I have gone with my husband we have always ended up sitting at the bar and eating so we don't have to wait for a table.
In the rough or fancy? If you don't want to go to a chain there is the seafood restaurant at the Farmer's Market in Raleigh.
Probably more rough than fancy -- but not too rough. Not someplace where you eat off of paper plates with plastic utensils.....but we definitely don't need a foo-foo place where they cork your wine for you.
I'm not picky, so as long as the food is good, I don't care if it's a chain restaurant or a local joint. Thanks!
Kemp's Seafood might be what you're looking for. It's off US 70 (Glenwood) between Raleigh and Durham. Just north of Brier Creek.
think Kemps is over-rated. Portion size is nice, but the food just seems…underdone. I know a lot of people love it, so it might just be our family, but we were disappointed. Service was good though.
Shuckers is a nice (not fancy, just nice) oyster bar seafood place in North Raleigh/Wake Forest.
Mayflower on Captial is always packed – we’ve gotten taken out from there. Nice basic, tasty seafood.
Bonefish is pretty good but has that chain feel to it. I personally think 42nd Street Oyster Bar is very good....now I am from MD and there are about 20 places up there I would recommend over the best down here but 42nd Street is a good choice if you don't mind going downtown.
