Hi all! I'm thinking relocating to Raleigh, because it is suppose to be a great place for young professionals, and also very pretty. I am 33, and looking to find a place to live that has not only great guys but marriage type guys. I live in NY right now, and guys kill it here, but aren't serious about settling down. They blow through women, because they can, there's so many of us.And everyone here is so focused on careers. Is Raleigh a young place? What's the dating scene like there? I almost feel like either people are college age or married already and settled down. I'm looking for a great place to relocate with a large portion of 30 somethings who are into settling down. I wanna a husband like yesterday. Maybe I should move to Denver? Texas? Any advice?

As a 48 year-old married man with 2 kids, I feel that I am not qualified to answer your question.

May be try Michigan? There are men here in NC. Best to look at some organizations or teh Raleigh Meet-up site? Possible to run into soem graduate students near NCSU.

I would say that you don't need a "ton of men"... just the right one! ;-)

But honestly I would think there are more young professionals in Charlotte, more families in Raleigh area. But of course... there is going to be some wherever you go!

Good luck!

Honestly I think most "boys" in North Carolina are just too slow thinking to really manage a girl who knows her brain better than her boobs. There's good guys here (like me!) but like everywhere, usually we're taken.

I shall refrain from a smart *** comment. Maybe try craigslist?

Very sweet! Thanks all for your two cents! I think you're right lasershen.
I'm just in a position to relocate currently and I think where I decide to move will have an affect on my dating life. For the most part I think there are really nice people in NC, so that's reassuring.
THanks again

Don't relocate someone for the purpose of dating, that seems very shallow. If you are as confident as you sound you will live where you want to live based on a number of factors none of which should include men.

The Cary/Apex area is wonderful and while it does cater more toward families us singles still have plenty of options. You will be fine here.
