Hello. I am planning a 22 people party with about 11 kids (age ranging from 5 month to 5 years). Do you guys know any good place in the triangle area that is good for such a big party and not very expensive? We can bring food and drinks by ourselves.
My friends live in raleigh, cary, morrisville, chapel hill, and durham. So any place in the middle would be good. Thanks in advance!
Indoors? Outdoors? Just want a venue space? Looking for some sort of built-in activity to go along with the party (bowling, etc)? What is "not very expensive" to you?
I look for indoor place. Bowling is not necessary. Basically friends chatting, having lunch, kids play around. I don't know much about such places. But I guess approximately $200 should be fine.
Black Horse Run clubhouse is a very inexpensive rent. It is part of the Black Horse Run swimming facility and at this time of year is very easy with no pool foot traffic. It is up Creedmore Road/Hwy 50 just up past the outer belt 540.
For $200 you can rent a bowling alley or have it at one of the inflatable jump/bounces places. Our friend had their daughters party at the bowling alley, and it includes everything, food, drinks, cake for around $200. But don't expect any quiet time where the adults can relax and converse!
You can reserve a covered picnic shelter in one of the Raleigh parks for about $8 an hour.
You can rent rooms in the community centers in Durham, Raleigh, or Cary for a very reasonable price. For example I know the community center at Bond Lake you can rent a room with a kitchenette for something like $45/hour if you're a citizen of Cary. Durham ones are even cheaper.
I just had my son's party at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham and that was very reasonable and the museum is wonderful. We had the room for an hour. They let you bring your own food and drink if you want so I picked up a bunch of large pizzas from a close-by Little Caesars for $5.55/each. Brought drinks, chips, and cake and we were set The kids had so much fun. We have also done parties at Marbles, Pump It Up, High Tech High Touch and they were all fun as well.
