Do you think there are available jobs in this field?

So many have been laid off in cutbacks and mergers.

Try an airline. Southwest is known to train. Just do not be suckered into student loan debt for a job where there's no hiring going on.

Good luck.

According to this "how-to" article, you get hired by an airline and then go for training:

Do not go to a flight attendant training school! You go after being hired by the airline and they will train you. They don't like people who were trained at a school as they like to mold you themselves. You will waste lots of time and money. Check out the flight attendant forums on indeed.

Less than 1% who apply get the job. It's a very demanding and low paying field to get into. Please do all of your research before spending lots of money.

This is correct. The airlines have required training that you will attend once hired (many weeks worth), so it isn't worth your time or money to go elsewhere. The training will usually be in the airline's major hub or headquarters. For example, Delta flight attendants complete their training courses primarily in Atlanta, American in Dallas.

Check the airline's website for openings.

One tip, if you can't get in quickly for a flight attendant position, consider jobs in airport customer service. It may not be what you're looking for, but if you get your foot in the door, it is easier to apply internally when they next have FA positions.

Good luck!

The only airline that has a base in Raleigh is Gojets right now FYI. They operate under Delta/United. Do some research before applying.

Otherwise you will be commuting to other cities. Commuting sucks, don't do it. Not worth the $15k/yr you'll make unless you need the medical.

I was waiting for a plane the other day. A young lady sat near me talking on the phone. She complained that her mother hadn't told her about the restrictions in carry ons for lotions, gels, etc. She said she had to leave the security line and pay $25 to check a bag with her lotions. About a minute later, she commented on how she was hoping to be accepted for Flight Attendant training.
