Does anybody know a nice scenic area in or near the Cary area where a large group (50 or so - maybe a few more) could take a nice, scenic group photo? I was looking at a couple of parks, but we'd need a bridge or large area in the park where we could set up chairs. I'd like something nice, like near a lake or waterfall. I looked at Yates Mill Pond, but I don't think there's an area large enough for 50+ people to stand.

^^2 good ones.

Crowder District Park has a pretty pond.

Lake Wheeler has a great waterfront deck that I think would hold 50, with the lake as a backdrop.

Possibly Lassiter Mill Park in Raleigh? Old low head dam waterfall. Worth scouting.

Sears Farm Road Park is a photographer's dream, although it has no lake.

Maybe Apex Community Park Lake on the Lake Pine Drive end in particular, although the parking lot fills up.

Not too familiar with the Containment Area for Relocated Yankees, but J.C. Raulston Arboretum has myriad photogenic venues, and it's just a short drive up 440 from Cary.

Lake Raleigh on Centennial Campus road has a long fishing dock. And right around the corner is Grande Street ? just left past the farmer's market on Lake Wheeler Road feeds you into the back side of Dorothy Dick's campus. A lot of large fields.

I personally love some of the scenic shots of downtown Raleigh from the Bolyan/ Western Blvd area.

+1 on Crowder Park. Drive to the BACK lot.
Pullen Park could be great too.
How about the Sunset Lake lodge/park in Holly Springs? My brother got married there and it was beautiful. It's off of Bass Lake Road.

I agree with Bond Park and Hemlock Bluffs. Also, Yates Mill County Park is pretty close by and lovely.
