Hi everybody, I'm new to this great forum (currently in FL, planning to move to the area soon). I hope everybody is ok from that horrible chemical plant explosion. I heard that EQ has been fined before for safety violations in NC and Michigan. How nice of them to put everyone at risk. Again, I hope you all are doing well and everybody is safe.
We had quite a scare but the local EMS teams did a fabulous job of keeping folks in the community safe and sound. The schools were closed and an EMS shelter was set-up at the local high school to accomodate those who were evacuated from their homes.
It's really nice to know that a community can pull together during the rough times!!
This is great news. I will definetly find out more about the safeguards in place for this facility and the nuclear plant before deciding where to buy our home.

Another newsflash-I heard on CNN news this morning that EQ is planning to reimburse anyone who had expenses incurred during the evacuation. They're probably hoping to stave off the lawsuits that are sure to follow!
Funny how the Nuclear Plant is something that so many people are concerned about but who even knew that EQ place was there? I wonder how many other areas have companies like that and we don't even know?
Apex is such a lovely place that I doubt it will affect prices but we will just have to wait and see.
I doubt it will affect real estate prices in the area. It looks like EQ no longer has a plant there since it burned. Now if they talk about rebuilding another one, I would seriously consider getting some protests going in their direction. They seem like yet another company who is not a "good neighbor" and they don't really care about the residents.
