I am moving from the west coast to the Triangle area and was hoping to get some info regarding employment agencies or specific companies in my field. I am an electronics technician (hardware, NOT software/programming) currently working a contract with Intel, and I have experience with high tech, biomedical implantable devices, and professional audio manufacturing.

Are there any employment agencies/headhunters that specialize in either the Raleigh/Durham area OR the high tech field? I have been investigating specific companies, but any additional names would be helpful, too.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I saw from another post that you are also considering RTP after living in the PNW. My husband is an EE with a medical device company, and we are also wondering about the job market. His interest is also in hardware and testing, not software. I hope that someone replies to your thread...

I hope so, too. It would be nice to gain more info for that region. I lived in Seattle for 9 years total and Portland for 19, so I'm only familiar with this area--however, definitely ready to leave the Pac NW once and for all.

Aerotek staffing would be a good place to check in with. They do technical staffing for a variety of industries.

I presume you've read all of the threads and posts from people saying it is really, really, really wise to have a job in hand BEFORE moving here?

Hi PDX transplant,

Is there a reason(s) why you want to leave the PNW in particular?
I'm assuming RTP is what's bringing you to this area, but are there any other reasons you are interested in Raleigh/RTP? Just a bit curious, because I did (essentially) the same thing as what you are planning and am interested to hear your thoughts.
