Can anyone direct me to shopping areas with gift shops, boutiques, home dec, etc? We relocated to this area for several months, and I need to Christmas shop! Thanks!

Try Five Points, particularly NOFO . NOFO at the Pig - Raleigh NC

It's a beautiful time of year for a drive to Seagrove to shop for pottery: Seagrove Pottery (http://www.seagrovepotteryheritage.com/ - broken link)

If you don't want to drive to Seagrove, there is a Seagrove Pottery store and other boutiques at Cameron Village: Cameron Village (broken link)

Thanks for the info! Seagrove looks like a great time! I will definately make it to the festival Nov. 17th!
Anyone have any suggestions in the Chapel Hill area? I would imagine the types of shops I am looking for are in the "suburbs"? We are living in corporate housing in Burlington, so I have lots of time to get out and about to explore.....CarrMill was interesting, but not many shops there. Any info will be greatly appreciated!

In Chapel Hill, check out A Southern Season A Southern Season, award-winning source for gourmet gift baskets and fancy foods. . They have a lot of gift items as well as food. The attached mall (University Mall) has a couple of cute stores too. You might also want to check out the 9th Street Area in Durham. Ninth Street alternative shopping district, Durham, NC, aka 9th Street

The Shops at Baileywick is always loaded with goodies...not cheap but fun!

They are located in North Raleigh near Strickland Road.

I really love the Cotton Company in downtown Wake Forest... kind of like a classier flea market deal. Lots of different things, my favorite being the jewlery, but there's clothing, decorations, wine... If you go, you won't be dissapointed.

If you are looking for really unique, small town type boutiques and you're in the area, check out downtown Fuquay-Varina. There are two sections, Fuquay (downtown on Main Street) and Varina (uptown on Broad Street). They are both revitalized historic districts with uniques shops and boutiques that are both seeing a resurgence in commercial growth. There are antiques, clothing, home decor, consignment shops, etc. Basically, some really neat stuff for shopping!
