Plants Delight nursery is having a special 25th Anniversary Open House this weekend and next. Even if you don't garden this is a wonderful opportunity to visit for free a beautiful garden- almost like a botanical garden.
My kids had a wonderful time even though we were caught up in some rain. DD said "Mama, this man lives in a paradise". And it's true.

Jackie- it is a true treasure right here in our midst. They ship all over the country and Tony Avent, the owner is a world respected plantsman. His catalogues and their covers are works of art. His writing style is witty and makes for great reading. Plus he is usually only open twice a year at spring open house and fall open house so it is a rare treat to see his gardens this time of year and especially after so much rain. Lush in an understatement. I hope you enjoy your visit.

Jk gourmet- so glad you saw my post. I was going to DM you to remind you of this. It's amazing how many folks aren't aware of this incredible garden. So refreshing and restorative. Like a shot of B12 for me.

Tony was the garden columnist for many, many years at the News & Observer so many folks do know about it, but more recent transplants (ha!) would not since he retired from writing for the N&O a decade or more ago.

Ditto! My mom and grandmom would love this!

However I didn't see this post until today, so you'll see us in September for the fall visitation.
