I've posted lots of pics and details of our basement finish job done by Joseph Grantham. Search using my username and his name and they should turn up.

I am keeping this name in mind. Thanks! I have seen your pics.

You can come and see his work in person at my house. Shop/garage, basement, deck, porch. Lots to show. Let him know I referred you if ever you contact him

Excellent!

We are planning ahead. Sometime next year we will start thinking about exactly what we want and who can do it. We want to add a 4th garage, connect it to the existing house, and finish the space above it (among other things).

We will probably remodel the 3rd floor to make better use of the space up there (part of it is already finished and part is unfinished storage).

Definitely come see me at that time so I can walk you through what we did and give you some pointers. I planned it out for years and years and did months worth of research prior to doing the work.

That's exactly what we plan to do. Take our time, think it through completely. Will get in touch with you after the holidays. Thanks so much for the offer!

We are determined to get it right. Had a very negative contractor experience on some fairly minor work and what we want to do next is major stuff.

I've dealt with a lot of trades around here since my first home purchase in 1999. I even owned 4 homes (at the same time) and so you can imagine I have dealt with tons of them. Joseph is by far the best of the bunch by a wide margin. The only reason I went forward with my add-on garage/shop as I had dreamed it up was because I trusted him so much after the work he did on the porch, deck, and basement.

That's very encouraging. It's tough to know what you want and not be able to find someone who can give proper quotes, keep realistic timelines, AND do good work. Seems people often lack something somewhere in that equation.
