Interesting quote from the article: "Even John Tedesco, who was elected as part of the conservative bloc, is concerned about the Legislature's actions. "In all honesty, this is about to crash in a way that we have no clue," Tedesco said at a school board meeting in August. "We keep talking about want[ing] the best and the brightest teaching our children, but we don't provide the resources for them. Again, I'm a strong fiscal conservative. I'm a strong free-market guy. But one of the cruxes of any free-market system is competitive wages.""

Well, we all know now how this played out with Wake Co. voters approving the school bond in October by a 16% margin.

I think you need to read more recent articles!

The article you quoted is from September 2013. As RNC2MbFl points out the bond in question did pass in the November elections. That not to say there aren't other challenges, but the crux of the article is based on a moot point.

Don't know Tedesco's background. What's your take on him?

Oh Lord, we're not gonna open that can of worms, are we?

Read back on numerous threads about the Wake County School Board in recent years and the thousands of posts there. That should give you an adequate sampling of the views regarding Mr. Tedesco.

One of the most controversial figures in this county (at least until Aldona Wos was in the picture). Google (or search this forum) for his name and "Wake County School Board", especially around 2010. We don't need to drag that up again!
