Hi there,
Can anyone tell me if the water in Northwest Raleigh is hard? We currently have water filters on our showers. Our water here in FL is really hard had calcifies on everything. We are packing for our move. Just wondering if we will still need these filters?
Thanks.

It has some hardness but at a pretty typical level - nothing unusual.

Thanks. When we were there visiting and looking around it seemed softer but we were in hotels so hard to tell.

If you are on City of Raleigh water, I think you'll be fine. If you are on a well or a neighborhood water system, it's difficult to predict.

I once had my tested in Raleigh and the tester said it was a perfect PH. You typically only see hard water around the beach.

Thanks guys. Good to know we will not have to have filters on every faucet and tap. We currently do not live near the beach but our water is very hard.

Why would you not use a water softener rather than filters? Do filters even work for hardness?
