The is by no means a "big" Asian population in the area, to answer your question. If someone sat down to make a list of cities with large Asian populations, they would go a LONG way before they thought of Raleigh, if at all.

But, that is not to say that Asians don't fit in with everyone else here.

If you want a "Chinatown" sort of environment, stick with the huge cities or the West Coast states. If you are merely worried that you will stand out for being Asian, no worries whatsoever.

I'm not sure about Raleigh, but sometimes it feels like there are more Indians than Americans in West Cary/Morrisville.

OP, good number of Asians (Chinese, Koreans, Japanese, Filipino) here. I'd say more in Durham/Cary/Morrisville than in Raleigh.
Note that the British definition of 'Asian' typically doesn't include East Asians like Chinese or Japanese.
