Hi! I am new to the area and need to find a dr for me and my husband. I would like to have a female dr that specializes in hormones and thyroid issues if possible.
We have BCBS NC so I looked on the list of providers but it is really hard to pick a name off a list. Can any of you refer a dr in the area?
Thanks!

I just looked up the one I saw in North Raleigh. Apparently, she is not there any longer.

I think it's hard for others to recommend a medical provider for others because what's important to you may not be the same for another person and vice versa.

I usually start by calling each practice and talking to the Office Manager. I have a list of questions I ask about the practice, doctors, etc. That usually gives me a "good feel" about how things are run and how they treat patients. I have never been disappointed in any doctor/NP unless I end up getting stuck with a doctor I didn't research (ie. doctor referral, hospital assignment, etc.).

Good luck in your search.

I have a male doctor but I can tell you that I've been very happy with Duke Medicine in Brier Creek in NW Raleigh. There are several competing med providers in my area.

Thanks. I was going to call the Duke medicine in Brier Creek.
I will write down a list of things I am looking for before calling. I used to be in the medical/clinical research field in FL so I already had Dr. I didnt need to search.

Third that.
Dr. Nacouzi's Primary Care visits take a while. She is so detail oriented, which I as a Health care professional really admire. And, she is willing to have a conversation with you to see if there are other things that you need to consider.
