Do any of you know of any really good ones?

Ones that also have some expertise with outdoor grill enclosures and/or fireplaces would be lovely.

Thanks!

Deck, Sunroom & Porch Raleigh-Durham Builders | Structurally Speaking

Jim Brennan does superior design work and excellent build quality. Oh yes, he charges more than the typical contractor.

Is he worth it?

Attention to detail and detailed quotes are paramount.

In my opinion, yes. Upon request he will arrange for you to see his finished work on residences near yours.

You will get that, and more. Three-dimensional computer renderings of your proposed project.

A close friend contracted with Brennan to build a screened porch. She told me he would make the roof using 2"x6" dimensional lumber. I said he must mean the roof rafters, nobody builds an entire roof of 2"x6"s. I was wrong! That porch is better-built and stronger than the house to which it is attached.

I like him already. Thank you!

That would be nice. You can post them here if they're your pics.

Check my past posts about Joseph Grantham. Talk about detailed, on the ball, and communicative...he's your guy. Liked him so much I went from a screened porch to a finished basement, and then after that a massive oversized 2-car garage add-on to the house with him. Contact me privately and I'll be happy to show you the work he did, but I have posted some photos and details in the past.

Thank you for the reminder about Joseph Grantham. I knew there was someone who had a contractor that was very versatile. It was you!

We need a good many things done, but not all at once. I'll message you.

Thanks!

I'm bumping this thread to see if anyone can recommend a contractor for a relatively simple deck construction project in Durham? I read some of the recent discussions on this subject and most seem to focus on contractors in the Raleigh/Apex/Fuquay-Varina area and several of those contractors mentioned don't service Durham. Thanks!
