It's going to be colder here than NY City over the next three days. Per weather.com - some 5 degrees warmer, at night, in the Big Apple versus Raleigh.

Yep I'm down here now from the Big Apple for the week and let me tell you, this isn't cold, lol! I was out and about yesterday before the storm and most of the businesses in Wake Forest, with the exception of the brewery, shut down early in the afternoon. My sister in law's neighbors looked like they were having fun in the white stuff today. Hey its winter and its going to be cold.

I love my NY neighbor who claims it isn't cold with those temps. I'm like, "then why don't you come outside more often"? Easy to say it's not cold when you huddle in your house. Come outside for a couple hours, even when it's windy and 25 degrees and tell me it's not cold as your lips can't move.

Well, here's the thing....when it gets cold here with temps, say, below 25, you can easily imagine that within a week or so, you'll get a day where it gets up to 55, maybe 60 if you're lucky. In the north...you can easily imagine that the temp wont get above 35 for at least 3 freakn weeks.

I remember one three week period where it did not break 20 degrees.

My deal when I finally got to move back to NC was that I could never complain about being cold again. So I don't. And I don't complain about being too hot, either!

The only thing I can complain about this week??? My 20 year old furnace gave up. $4100 for a new one.

(17 years NY, 17 years NC)

It is winter after all and it is supposed to be cold. It's not like we haven't hit zero or colder before...

I agree - I'm from the NYC area - that is VERY cold for up there, the ocean has a moderating effect on temperatures most of the time. And from what I've heard we are about to break a very old record on Friday. So I don't buy that this is a even a semi-regular occurrence around here, either!
