I am a senior at NC State University and I am looking to purchase my first home with my aunt’s assistance. My Aunt and I have been searching for condo for me in Raleigh for the past two months. We decided on a condo in the Villages East Subdivision of North East Raleigh. After accepting the seller's counter offer, the seller, now, has refused to sign the contract due to lacking money for closing cost.

If anyone has experience with short sales, we would appreciate your feedback. Thank you.

There are some really crappy condos around in communities primarily owned by investors who don't live there.

Distressed properties might be a very poor investment.

Because of this inconvenience, we are forced to continue our search. We would like to find a condo and have a closing before the beginning of Fall Semester of this year.

We are looking for any short sale possibilities in Raleigh. If anyone has experience with short sales, we would appreciate your feedback.
Thank you.

Have you done a limiting search using one of the local real estate company sites or realtor.com? You should come up with your answer about what is available. If you can do some renovations, you could make out great buying a condo that needs some work. Many neighborhoods are being redone and if you get in early, before things look to good, you could put yourself in a nice position.

Short sales have a notoriously long sales cycle with many emotional ups and downs, so be prepared for the roller coaster, ejprice2. Good luck.
