Hello. My family and I are looking to relocating to NC from Philadelphia next summer. My husband and I are both 28 and have 1 son but are expecting another one next year. It has been our dream to move south and NC has been my focus for a while now. We are both in the medical field so we want to be near hospitals. Good school are also very important. We are looking for an active community with young families so my son can have lots of friends to play with. We want to be near a city but live in a slower paced area. I prefer not to be coastal but would love to have a lake nearby. We also have a dog who loves to go on long walks. The raleigh area seems to fit with what i want but I could be wrong. We are looking to rent until we get comfortable so hopefully we can find a price that would allow us to save. I know I wrote a lot but any help would be appreciated.

Based on what you have written above, the Trianglearea appears to be in line with what you're looking for a specially the medical field part. Even with the short write up, I think you would like it here. If you are going to rent for very short period of time and use that to decide what area you want to live in I'd recommend looking at the Southpoint Mall area off I-40 and in the Briarcreek area of Raleigh off I-540. Those locations are on two of the primary highways the intersect the area and are very centrally located. That should give you time to decide what area matches your needs and personality.

There are dozens of communities with children where you can also commute to hospitals. Try reading the forum threads on Wake Forest, Cary, Morrisville, Apex, Holly Springs, Garner, etc. All of them are in the Wake County Schools system.

Once you locate jobs, you will be better able to refine your location to rent.
