Has anyone had experience with this repair shop in downtown Wake Forest?
Please send me pm if you prefer.

Being still new in the area, we're trying to find the dependable services one needs without spending a bundle of money (like we did at one place - $600) just to find out later that instead of repair we got a bandaid job.

Doc's was recommended by a lube shop. Just wondering if anyone has had work done there and were they happy with it.

Thank you in advance.

I have mixed feelings about this one.

My family has been going to him for years and have never had a problem, but they all drive domestic cars. I took my Honda to Moderator cut: name removed , and have regretted it since.

I brought in my Honda for the clutch. Moderator cut: removed

Personally, I would never in a million years take my car back there. On the other hand, if you have a basic domestic car (Chevy, Ford, etc), problems seem to be nonexistent.

I don't have any experience with Doc's Automotive, but if you have an import I'd recommend Import Quality Repairs at 101 N. White St in Wake Forest. I took a car I was thinking of buying to him, and he did an excellent job inspecting it and found several problems that made me decide not to buy the car. He really went above and beyond in checking out the car, clearly explaining everything he found, documenting it, etc. for a good price. I don't live in Wake Forest, but if I did I'd take my car there.

I think I'll avoid Doc's. Does anybody recommend a place in WF for brakes (not the dealer). I have a chevy SUV.

Thanks !!!

You should be fine with a Chevy at Doc's, actually.

If not, there's a place in Raleigh called Brown's Alignment & Brake Service that did mine fairly cheap and well. Their other services aren't as inexpensive, but for brakes, when I called around about a year ago, they were the least expensive in the area. Their main mechanic seems a little shady when you talk to him (probably only because I'm a woman), but the other guys in the shop are extremely polite and pleasant.

A dealer, but a good one, Bobby murray Chevy in Raleigh.

I had issues with awful squeal from the brakes after having an independent do our Toyotas.

Turned out there was an issue with that year. The dealer knew but most independents didn't.
