How is the Lizard population in Raleigh North Carolina?
Do you see many of them in your back yard?
(I have phobia to lizards and we are planning to move to North Carolina. In Houston Texas we have lots of them all over the walls and side of gardens)

Not as many as some places but they're definitely around.

They're around, but they seem to have favorite spots. Like I will never see them except for one particular walkway between the parking lot and my office. But they're pretty small (maybe 6" long, max?) and they're almost always scampering away to a hiding spot. I never see them just lounging around.

(BTW, if your phobia is such that you don't even want to see pictures of them, you might want to say so because posters, in an effort to be helpful, may post pictures of what we typically have around here)

We see skinks from time to time, but they're small and harmless.

I see many more skinks than lizards, though it is the lizards my kids prefer to catch.

We see more frogs than lizards or skinks. We had lots of lizards in Phoenix - I miss those guys!

Aren't skinks a type of lizard? I didn't know there's a difference (and I'm betting the OP probably won't think there's a difference).

You are correct. Growing up in the South, I have always distinguished but you are technically correct. My apologies. I always called the green ones "lizard".

We do have them. It might be best to overcome your phobia. It's not like they attack people.

I've seen quite a few in my back yard but I think they're cute. I'll take 'em over snakes and spiders...
