So we were going to take our Arizona guests to the first annual pig picking revival picnic, but waited for weather reports. And tickets are now sold out. Great fir them, but bad for us.

Alternative is a BBQ place, preferably eastern NC style available. Driving out into the country for an hour or so would be ideal (we're in Brier Creek), but food and cool atmosphere is most important. Must be open Sunday.

Help, please?

The Pik-n-Pig

Haven't been yet but it's on my list. Seems like a cool atmosphere with small planes coming and going.

PnP is perfect for an original Red Neck barbecue lunch.

My friends from the Northeast demand at least one visit to PnP during their annual trek to Moore Co. (official red neck country) according to another thread.

Allen and Son's, B's and Grady's are all closed on Sunday. Boo!

Wilburs is open:

I think the Pic'n Pig and Parker's are both good options (I did not check their hours).

I like the Cook Out, but I don't think it fits what you are looking for.

Ron's Barn in Coats NC. Love their BBQ (plus they have fried chicken, shrimp, ton's of other stuff) *Ron's Barn BBQ and Seafood Menu

It's an hour from Brier Creek and definitely in the country.

How about Hillsborough BBQ Company in Hillsborough? After you have lunch there you could walk down to Mystery Brewing and have a pint of two of their beers!
