IKEA is great in terms of furniture options here in the Triangle.
I personally think it's overrated though (hot take) - awesome when I was a poor college student, otherwise a bunch of stuff that is poorly constructed.
This exactly. Great for just starting out but the quality usually doesn't hold.

I doubt I will ever purchase another piece of furniture there because of my concerns over durability. The great thing about them being such a large retailer is that they offer so much more. I got some fairly large planters that I am extremely happy with. The reality for me is that I'm not going to go to Charlotte to purchase small household items, but I would certainly welcome the oppertunity within the Triangle.

Me too - if they opened here I'd buy a ton of small household items but probably not any major furniture.
I do have a small three drawer dresser that I've kept since the 90s, though. I cannot believe I still have it. It's in my closet and has moved with me so many times I can't count. At this point I'm keeping it just for the fun of it.

I totally agree with you about the quality. It is fun place to go and just check out furniture. When they opened the store in Miami it was the craziest thing ever. People camped over night

This sums up my opinion of Ikea too. I lived 5 minutes from one and I would not buy the furniture but I do enjoy the marketplace.
I've never had a problem with IKEA quality. I just hate that drive to Charlotte.
