WCPSS site says the elementary school after redistricting is going to
be Mills park elementary. Middle still seems to be Salem. Any plans for building Mills park middle school as well ?
Where exactly is(are) the Mills park school(s) ? (cross streets / landmarks please)
We recently moved onto Remington Oaks Circle in Amberly
Mills Park is off of Green Level to Durham Rd. If you are coming from your new house, you turn right on GLtoDurham Rd. at the Harris Teeter. The school is about 1/2 mile down on the left.
There are plans to build a middle school, but it's probably about 5-10 years away.
You're quite welcome. I know I was confused too for a while when they were building it. People kept referring to the new school, but I couldn't see it anywhere. it's kind of hidden back off the road. I actually found it one day when i was flying into RDU and realized I was flying over Cary Park. Then I saw the school construction.

Acutally, it appears that WCPSS plans to build the "Cary Park" Middle School for the 2010-2011 year. Here is the link to the Summary of New School Projections (http://www.wcpss.net/bond/downloads/new_schools2005-2012.pdf - broken link) on the Wake County site.

So I read your post and I thought, "Yeah, what I said -- 5 years away." And then I realized it's already 2008. Where did the time go?

We decided to drive by Mills Park Elem. the other day to see how the construction was coming along... it looks great. I don't remember seeing a 3 story elementary school around here... hopefully that will be a better use of space?!
Mills Park Elem. should receive a certificate of occupancy this week, with a start date of July 7th. It really looks like a great facility.
