Another vote for Saffron and India Palace 2 - the one in Morrisville. I generally do takeouts and prefer India Palace 2 food over Saffron. Tastier and a tad bit cheaper.
But, Saffron and India Palace both serve north Indian food. Kandas - I haven't been to it, but its menu is more towards south Indian veg/non-veg food. Both have their own tastes - for me, its just a matter of what I want to eat that day. Wikipedia link for north/south Indian food if you're interested
Bombay Grille in Durham (RTP) is the best Indian food I have ever had in my life. I don't bother to go anywhere else anymore. It's convenient to Raleigh because it's practically in RTP and you can get there easily from 40.
You all should give Kandas on Hwy 54 a try. It is right next to Neomonde Cafe in that strip mall. India has different food based on the region, and this is a strong South Indian variation of non-veg food.
I will give it a try, but ya lost me . Hwy 54 and what now? In Cary? From Rt. 1, where am I goin'?
1. Royal India (capital and buffaloe road)
2. Taj Mahal (This one is closer than Royal India if you are coming from Wake Forest to Raleigh. It is on your left side next to food lion in a plaza after you pass summer blvd. not too sure abt the exact distance from Wake Forest )
I have been to Royal India but I liked Saffron in Morrisville.
There is one more restaurant - Bombay Kitchen on Falls of Neuse Road after Spring Forest Road. But I am not sure about the food.
There are many restaurants near Chatham Square in Cary. You can try them some day.

If you go north from the intersection of Highway 54 and Aviation/Morrisville-Carpenter, it will be on your left. There is a little strip mall with Cafe Neomonde and a few other businesses + restaurants. I believe that it is south of the intersection of 54 with Airport Blvd.

TY, went from the article to the Kandas website to the menu. Now I want Indian food!! It looks really good. We'll give it a try soon.
I know I said I would only go to Bombay Grille, but after I posted that I got cravings and as I've recently become vegetarian, I went to Udipi Cafe in Cary.
GREAT STUFF.
Udipi never fails me. I used to go to the Tampa one all the time before I went all-veg. It's south Indian so no naan, instead they have those crepes with the potatoes in them (forgot what they're called).
