Are you sure? I just did a quick pass of the Brier Creek area on Zillow with a $300-400k filter of 3k+ sq feet homes and found a bunch that might fit your criteria.

You can find an older home in North Hills or Lakemont for that amount. If not look in the neighborhoods along Six Forks going to 540, unless you are looking for new construction.

Sorry I missed your wishlist. Agree with others suggestions for the neighborhoods above 540. Although I will say that the drive down Six Forks is a pain in traffic. I work from home, but take my daughter to daycare near 540. It takes me about 20 min to get up Six Forks and another 30 back down depending on traffic.

That was my first thought. Especially in that price range. If I were to move back to Raleigh (just moved away a year ago after 32 years) and had that sort of budget, that's where I'd look.

I live off Six Forks in between Lynn and Millbrook Roads, and yeah, going south on Six Forks during morning rush hour can be slow, but even from where I am, it takes no more than 10-15 mins to get to North Hills unless there's an accident or incident snarling traffic. Then again, I'm renting an apartment for a little over 900 a month. Not even sure on buying in thay price range round these parts. I'm sure it's possible. There's a nice neighborhood off Six Forks and Sawmill (main neighborhood street is Longstreet), see if there's anything there for sale. Should be in your price range, and no HOA which is unusual and nice.

I imagine the 3 car garage might be a limiting factor in the immediate North Hills area? I could be wrong but that doesn't strike me as a common feature.

Thank you everyone! I must be searching wrong? I will take a look in these areas. My husband would like a community that has walking trails ect, and the kids would like a community pool to go to as well.
Yes, the 3-car garage seems to be an issue, not finding much with a bigger garage.

I live in Brier Creek and commute to North Hills for work daily. It's an easy commute. I would highly recommend it if you don't want to live in North Hills area. I didn't because I wanted new construction but had a budget that didn't support NH new construction prices.

JJingle- that's what I want but I only see the country club when I search and the prices are over my 400k limit. Am I looking in the wrong place? I want a newer/new home with an easy commute. Would like it to be about 2800-3100 sq ft and would prefer a lot no smaller than .30 acres. Im just not seeing it

You have a long wishlist for your budget and the inventory seems to be low right now. You may have to compromise on some things or move further out.
