There's an empty lot in the Triangle that I'm interested in, but it may not be build-able. The person selling it has gotten mixed responses from builders and city officials. Obviously I intend to find out for sure first whether it is or not before buying. Does anyone know of a builder in the area who is really creative when it comes to building on "challenging" lots?

Could reach out to this guy who did something similar on Wade Avenue:

I realize you are going to dig into the issue, but any initial clues as to what makes the lot unbuildable? It's one thing to be creative and work with limited space or having to sink a well where there is not access to public water. But if the issue is that there is no sewer and the soil is not suitable for a septic system (or there isn't enough space for a drain field) it doesn't matter how creative the builder is. It will come down to $$$ and how much you are willing to pay for an expensive advanced treatment system.

I'll have to get more details, but it's a .25 acre lot and I believe the issue is water or drainage-related. I haven't even seen it yet, so at this time I don't have any more info. I'll probably go look at it later this month.
