Here's a random question: are there any restaurants in the RTP area (or neighboring towns) that have decent apple pie? I occasionally get hungry for a slice, and I'm wondering what places serve it. It would be great to get a slice for lunch every now and again.

I'm aware that I could just make a homemade pie (and I do, on occasion), but I'm curious if there are any good places I'm missing. Any suggestions?

Plenty of places but since you are in Durham you should check out the Pie hole on 9th street it will be right next to zenfish, their apple pie is delicious

There used to be this place called Piebirds on Blount I think? They had the best. I'm with you, I'm still on the hunt for a good crusty slice of apple pie, so I am following this thread!

I am a pie snob but I find Publix bakery Dutch apple pie to be very good. They have the best store-made crust. Be sure to get a fresh one.

There is a place in Durham that just opened called East Durham Bake Shop. The lady that owns it started off as a pop up pie shop. Haven't had her apple but the ones I have had were good.
