I have to give props where props are due:

(perhaps this belongs in the relo thread? )

“Hi, I’m a 17 year old palm tree, currently living in Bermuda but will be relocating to Wilmington Beach, NC, shortly. Can anyone tell me how the schools are?”

I don't see how we're getting much rain out of this unless it doesn't follow the predicted track. Looking at the radar I don't see how anything but the very outer bands may make it to the Triangle. We'll see what the 11pm update says.

Yeah that is what it looks like to me too. I'm kinda upset, I did my fall reseeding today in anticipation.

A tree has already snapped off in my neighbors yard and hit our tree next to the driveway, so I don't think we're completely out of danger here. I'm in the North Raleigh / Six Forks area.

We'll start getting the effects of the storm Friday late morning, according to what I saw on the news. Between noon and 2pm it should have really kicked in. Estimates of rain in our area over a couple or 3 days are somewhere between 5" and 10", depending.

Saw the WRAL update and it looks like we'll be getting 50 mph winds tomorrow afternoon. Guess I better cook some of my fridge food tomorrow morning.......

No power at 4.37am, west Cary along Green Level Church rd.

Well, that didn’t last long! Time to buy a generator for next time.

We had a blink about 15 minutes ago.
Didn't trip the clocks, but definite blink.

East of Davis Drive, but Apex Electric.

Problem with losing power at this point is the fact that Duke won't come out till Sunday and won't work lines with winds over 30mph. Out of state crews are not due to arrive until early Sunday. If they start worst first we might be out of power for some time in the Triangle. Hope we get lucky and power stays on.
