Can anyone tell me the major newspaper for the Raleigh Metro area?
I know there are probably an assortment of local papers depending on the area, but what is the major for the Raleigh Metro area as a whole, or maybe its for all of NC?
If there is more than one major paper can you tell me them?
The News & Observer. (newsobserver.com)
It's Raleigh-based, but over the years it has increasingly expanded coverage to be a Triangle-wide paper. And probably the best for state news too, seeing as their offices are walking distance from the capitol.

Thanks in advance!!!
There really is only one for Raleigh, the N&O, however many of the different towns/cities (Wake Forest, Cary, Gardner etc etc) have small 'local' weekly papers that can have a wealth of information if you are moving outside Raleigh proper.
There is also the Herald-Sun, which is based out of Durham.... primarily covers Durham and Chapel Hill though. The N&O is a larger daily paper - I think it's second in the state in circulation, only the Charlotte Observer has more readers.
The N&O is good, but was better before McClatchey owned them.
And the N&O publishes and distributes several of the small town weeklies, which puts their independence in question.
