We're going with another couple to the 'Our Bodies Within' exhibit at Triangle Town Plaza. We'd like to have lunch afterwards (maybe should have scheduled that before viewing the exhibit, but whatever.)
I am unfamiliar with that area, and have a suspicion it's not a particularly nice area. Is there anyplace around there for a nice lunch? Or suggest someplace else that is on our route home to Brier Creek?
No Mexican, please. I've given up ever finding good Mexican in the Triangle.
There are lots of restaurants near there! Chili's, Macaroni Grill, 5 Guys, McAlister's Deli, Chipotle, Panera Bread, First Watch Cafe, and Red Bowl are a few within about 2 minutes drive off the top of my head. Granted they're all chains but no idea exactly what you're looking for. A few minutes up the road off Durant there is a seafood restaurant Nantucket Grill and a Sushi type place that is pretty good as well. Winston's is great as recommended already, Hibernian on Falls is also very good for burgers and pub type food. Metro Diner on Falls is delicious as well and has an enormous menu.
Or if they want more Americanized Tex-Mex either NanaTaco or Bandido's?
The poster in question previously lived in Phoenix, so I'm guessing the fact that a lot of the mexican food in the Triangle is americanized Tex-mex is the issue.

Bingo. AND we lived part time in Mexico for a couple of years.
Taqueria El Toro........and there are tons of great spots in Durham too. A couple great taco trucks on Capital. My favorite is El Rey del Taco on Hodges Street
