While I knew that the Durham-Orange Light Rail, like all public transit projects in the US, faced 100-fold more obstacles than the typical highway project, this week’s news has been tough to take.
Which leads me to wonder: how many of you like driving? Personally, I hate it—driving, or spending any time in a car, is always the worst part of my day. I love to bike, walk, take the bus, even fly, but driving always puts me in a bad mood. I get some of the cost- and logistic-based critique of the Durham/Orange light rail project, but if it happens (or even if we get intercity bus service with ten-minute headways) I could give up driving.
I suspect I’m an outlier on this front, but am curious nonetheless.
I like to drive! In the case of a traffic jam like last week, I have plenty of great music to get me through it!! I would never give up my minivan!!!
This is a decent thread for once. You can't really google this like the which plumber should I use or which town should I move to or where to get a good steak that are flooding the forum. Plus it's open ended. The golfers can post how much they enjoy driving over putting and the carpenters can laugh about those pesky nails they have issues with. Don't forget the car dealerships and their hard bargains.

No offense but the steering in a Prius is about as precise as a sailboat with its rudder missing.
I don't know how you all even stay in the correct lane. I wonder why it's so bad?
I have noticed that the steering is a little sensitive, but not a huge deal. My wife is the primary driver and she never mentioned it It’s a 2017...no plug in.
