I did a year or so ago, prior to moving to area. It is a good value, but you also get waht you are paying for also. I felt safe which is always good. close to several places to eat, and clean. It is not fancy and if you want good coffee when you wake up you will need to go out. I would rate it a seven out of a total of 10.

try comfort suites Cary off Tryon.. for a weekend you'll pay about $80 a night and with a full free breakfast. Its very safe and has an indoor pool too. Its 100% non smoking so you'll be guaranteed a non smoking room!

Just thought I would mention it before you say someplace else.

Thanks, NCMommy. This is just my husband and son so we're trying to be as frugal as possible. But I'll check it out!

So when it comes to "just my husband and son" any old hotel will do? I see how it is! And I suppose when you come to town nothing less than The Umstead Hotel and Spa will do! hah!!

Just kidding!

Absolutely not, NRG! I can "slum it" too. I slummed it at Washington Duke Inn during my last trip to the Triangle area.

Hey NRG--I knew you were joking. That's why I told you were I "slummed" it when I came to town. That place is anything but a slum!

It's more like good luck to my husband. His current company is imploding and he's in need of a new job---soon!
