Most people know that the prices are going to be more or less than where they moved. I'm looking to move there because the prices are the lowest I've seen anywhere, at least anywhere that I'd even contemplate moving to.....because it sounds like a good place to raise a family, and job-market is good, etc.
We live in Apex. Apex is great! It's not very spread out so you will be 5 minutes from movies, shopping, gym, grocery, downtown, etc from anywhere in Apex. The only thing to think about in Apex is that there is an active train track that runs through Apex. Just be aware when looking for houses as you may want to pick a house farther from the tracks. Some days I've heard one every 2 hours. The latest one I've heard is at 11:00 pm at night. There are pleny of subdivisions that are right near the tracks and others that are farther away. The same track ends up running through Cary.
I was wondering if the expression, "Containment Area for Relocated Yankees" is just another joke or whether it is based on fact.
A population pattern which I believe IS accurate is known as, "Half-Backs," those New York City retirees who retire to Florida. After a short time there, they come **halfway back** to NYCity -- and settle in North Carolina.
Clearly, a family wishing to move to Cary (or anywhere) should be aware of whether they would **belong** or **feel comfortable** in a town that they are considering as their new location. Who has a suggestion as to a reliable source of information about this?
