Ah we're all good. Sorry if I was a bit brash as well in my response. I'm just so tired of people not taking science seriously and pulling stuff out of thin air related to this whole virus thing. That and the whole stuck inside the house for about 3 weeks now thing.
I didn't take any offense at all, and I share those frustrations. Best wishes to you.
yeah, when this is over, I'm starting a movement to declare Stupid-Shaming a national patriotic obligation.
5G is lots of places, has been lots of places, and is not something you're going to (always) identify by looking. For instance, practically every airport and major hotel chain uses 5G...no towers in sight.
Just so I am sure we are all working from the same tool shed, everyone knows you need a certain kind of device to even connect to a 5G tower right? Like it takes a full on different radio to do so......

I also heard the two new NFL stadiums under construction, in both Las Vegas and Inglewood are putting 5G in as well.
Verizon has added 5G to three arenas in the US so far, San Francisco's Chase Center, Denver's Pepsi Center and Phoenix's Talking Stick Resort Arena with more on the way.
What? No. Samsung S10 is 5G capable as will be (are) the latest Apple phones and many others. The "new radio" refers to the "platform" if you will, not a literal new radio - although to be fair - a new phone is technically a new radio.
In any case - 5G is "out there." It is unavoidable. Increasingly so. If you visit an urban area - it is or will be there.
Anyway - it's not harmful. Please don't spread the junk science. It's just radio waves, and - in any case - if there are actual ill effects it will be obvious right quick - as soon as the whole country is using a 5G phone.

Doesn't 5G require a new radio/modem chipset? In the same way when LTE was released years ago you needed to have a LTE radio/modem chipset?
I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max and it doesn't have a 5G radio/modem

Yes.
But Samsung has been offering the 5G modems in select models.
I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ recently. No 5G, but I could have bought a Note 10+ 5G. I passed on spending more, and will wait for more clarity on 5G before upgrading.

I agree. My point wasn't that there aren't any 5G devices (there clearly are if you're an Android user).
My point was, just as we saw with the transition from 3G to LTE in what 2009 ish(?) phones simply don't jump from one to the other. You need hardware in the phone to utilize it. Which another poster seemed to indicate wasn't correct. Radio/modem whatever term you wish to use...5G requires a 5G modem.

My only thought is the technology is not yet mature, regardless of phone brand, etc. I'm not such an early adapter that I want to buy into beta stuff.
I will have a new phone in 18-24 months at most, and it will have a 5G radio/modem/whatever.
Yeah, Apple phones will have 5G in their next release. Your 11 will hold enough value you will be able to move up fairly painlessly.
And, side note, I have a nice Apple X phone about to go on sale.
