What other businesses are being forced to operate at a loss? Airlines can’t just shut down like other businesses.
Firstly, shutting down pretty much means you’re operating at a loss. But I kinda get your point... that some businesses have high variable operational costs, which means they’ll likely lose more if they’re open for business rather than be shut down.
“ One of the leaders of a group opposing Gov. Roy Cooper’s stay-at-home measures aimed at slowing the coronavirus spread has identified herself as having tested positive for the virus.
Audrey S. Whitlock, who is an administrator on the ReOpen NC Facebook page, posted a message to the group saying she tested positive and that her quarantine period ended on Sunday.”
I'd be curious to see if she actually did get a test or if she's just making this up. If you are asymptomatic, it's been pretty hard to get a test here in NC.....
Also you're not concerned about the virus but apparently concerned enough to get tested for it?
1. She went to this protest while being an asymptomatic carrier, but has claimed she was sick and “gasping for air” earlier this year.
2. She got people to put up a “I was there” pic on their Facebook group page, which she did as well, and then she really didn’t actually go...meaning she’s nothing more than a Catfish.
Either way, there are a couple of investigative journalists I follow on twitter who are all over this gal and some dude named Dennis Burgard.
Don't forget, the airlines are not only shuttling passengers, they are also filling their fuselages with cargo.
To that point, Delta received permission to fill the overhead bins with cargo, since that space would otherwise be unused. (There's limitations based on weight and shifting loads.)

so apparently she didn't participate in the protest(s)? Certainly not the one last week.
And imagine - she didn't require hospitalization and face death.
Per her post on the Facebook group page, she was at the protest that occurred on 4/20 or 4/21; not sure what day the protest was, but she mentions "What a day yesterday" on a post dated 4/22.
Unless she's a liar/Catfish and makes stuff up on Facebook.
ETA - Alternatively, given most of these "ReOpen[State]" group pages were all apparently opened within days of each other by someone in Jacksonville, this could be nothing more than Astroturfing.
On buses in Raleigh, they have seats marked off now that you have to sit in that are 6 feet away from each other.
serious ?, cause I'v never ridden a local bus ... do you think it's diminished real occupancy at all? Any essential commuters couldn't get on a bus because it was full?

I guess if I cared more, I'd have to do some digging. I hope those investigative journalists get to the bottom of this. Much bigger problem than "everybody with a brain knew mid-March that retirement centers would be very high-risk. Why is NC having such issues?"
