The house formerly owned by Kathleen and Michael Peterson hit the market this week. Made famous by the murder trial and even more famous by "The Staircase" documentary; especially when it was added to Netflix.
You can now be the proud new owner (3rd post-Peterson) of this Forrest Hills mansion in Durham, probably one of the most famous true-crime associated homes in the US second only to the Amityville Horror house, for a cool $1.9 Mil. The staircase in question is not pictured; though I imagine it is still there.
I went to a yard sale at the house (inside and out) just before the Peterson family sold it. We got there late in the afternoon on the last day of the sale. The shadows were already falling inside the home, and there were only a few people looking around. Most of the furnishings were already gone, and there were a few items of clothing laying around on the floors. A lot of Michael Peterson’s clothes were still hanging in the master closet. The stairwell was still boarded up with plywood. I was surprised at how much repair work the place needed. What a creepy experience.

That is extra creepy.
I wonder where he lives. I have seen him twice in my neighborhood (once at the bank and once at Harris Teeter). Haven't run into him recently though. Both odd experiences to be honest, he talks to himself out loud a lot.
