My Way Tavern on St Mary’s street in Raleigh serves it as well.

I think that the chili at Norse Brewing Company in Wake Forest is exceptionally tasty. The chili at Carolina Ale House is really good. Either of the chili's (Cowboy Chili or Cactus Chili) at Big Al's BBQ in Raleigh are really good.

I know that Hillsborough BBQ was recently offering a chili made from their beef brisket but I haven't had the chance to try it (yet).

If I just want to pick up some to-go chili and bring it home, I like the chili at Publix on their soup bar. The chili is available every day.

Anyone have any recommendations to go to get some? Restaurant or place? Can be in Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, Durham, apex etc! Open to suggestions
The responses have been remarkably civil here.

Nobody lectured you on "Chili does not have beans". Or any other such thing. Ha! We are all mellowing out.

I don't have a local rec, but I can confirm that PR (Players Retreat) has permenantly closed, so that is not an option.

If you are ever in Charlotte, I recommend Lupi's on Monroe Road (maybe 7th street, same road, just depends on where the name changes). Really good, and they do Texas and Cincinnatti. You can get it on "mac" or not. Probably the best I've had in the state. Assuming they are still open.

Other than that, nothing stands out, I'm sorry.

and here I was going to say "What the heck is chili soup?" but then I was going to leave it be, until you said the PR is permanently closed ?!? Inside knowledge? A sign on the door?

to my knowledge it's just a temporary closure. Their last facebook post said that they hope to reopen whenever employees can be vaccinated (they tried to reopen in the fall but several cases popped up on staff so that didn't work out)

I had some really good chili once years ago. I think it was at Red Hot & Blue when they had their Hillsborough St location. That one's closed, but there's one in north Raleigh.
