These changes were implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020 election, where mail-in-voting was extensively used.

I dunno, let him do THIS job?

Yes ---- and reduce mail deliveries from 6 days a week to 5 days a week. Frankly, 3 or 4 days a week would be more than adequate. Having mail delivered six days a week is unnecessary and wasteful.

The number of mail collection boxes has been declining for years, due to the decline in mail volume. The removal of old / obsolete sorting equipment has also been going for decades. DeJoy certainly didn’t start this, although he was a convenient target for criticism from the left. He did start policies to reduce or eliminate the rampant overtime labor costs. Good for him; that should have been done long ago.

Anyway, Biden will replace him if he gets the chance.

Should be taken public but let the government keep 51% ownership to ensure mail is delivered nationwide even when it is not profitable for certain addresses.

Works well in Europe. And being public ensures the business is working towards profitability and holds every associate accountable for performance.

You can't take it public unless you can show investors how the business will either turn a profit or grow its revenues. With its revenue structure and cost structure, USPS can hardly do either. I will also point out that population density in western and central Europe is considerably higher than average population density across the U.S. On a relative basis, USPS has a much higher transport burden and less efficient delivery.

Eh.

All you have to do anymore is call yourself "A Disruptor" and people throw billions of buckeroos at you.

Just needs to merge with some trendy catchy slick operation, do a bit of Disruptor Re-Branding, et Voila!
Mail Truck Loads of Benjamins!

The VC community does make stupid decisions occasionally, and the D word is definitely overused. That said, you seldom hear the opportunities pitched to VCs that they justifiably rejected. The private equity people are significantly harder to fool.
