Which was the point. I am already expecting (hoping!) That a dimmer will be necessary for DH. Although he is 14 years older, HIS night vision is WAY more intact than mine.

I can relate to this. I've been looking for a new light fixture for our entryway and two new ones for our kitchen to replace two large pendant lights hanging over the sink. All three were in the house when we bought it and I know they were expensive (I've seen them online) but they just aren't my taste.

Since they're in prominent places in the house and I do believe that the right lighting is incredibly important for the atmosphere of a room, I've been having such a hard time deciding on what to buy. Decorating is usually an enjoyable experience for me but finding replacements for these light fixtures is getting downright annoying.

The advice I've received here was very helpful and much appreciated. I've ordered this one from Amazon. I'll report back after it's installed.
DH got out his ladder and installed the light today. It's a very big difference, and makes the closet MUCH easier and functional for me. I can finally look at my tshirts and know which one is black vs navy, maroon vs red. In the big picture of life, I know this is minor crap, but being able to see in the dark close makes me FEEL BETTER about my quickly degenerating night vision.

Again, thanks to everyone for taking the time to share their knowledge, ideas and suggestions.

Forgot to post what I saw in Costco last week, passed by this which was and maybe still is on sale
